WHAT TO WEAR ON A FIRST DATE.
You feel a different excitement when it's date time.
Did I say the truth?
You nurse questions like; How do I appear? What should I not wear? What beauty products should I use? Should I wear makeup? High heel or flat? Casual or trendy? And lots more questions dances through your mind prepping for your first date.
Especially when it’s not a date with your circle.
Whichever one it is, I'm here to help.
Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Fashion Friday. Welcome to Fashioning with Tee.
How has it been with the week? Pretty good?
In this post, we'll dive into some golden rules to guide your appearance and be suggestive on what you should wear and what not to wear to a first date and perhaps consequent dates.
By the way, gentle men, you also want to follow the read. You could have a thing or two to share Cynthia!
Great.
Golden rules to guide your first date appearance:
1. Be yourself:
Don't try to impress or force yourself to give a good impression. Stick to what interests you and what you'd be convenient with, not necessarily the style that broke the Internet.
If you don't do so well with heels, don't get in them when it's date time. Be yourself and make yourself comfortable as much as you can.
2. Don't buy a new dress:
It's okay to get a dress if you decide to. However, don't hastily look out of your wardrobe assuming you don't have what to wear for this occasion. I bet you do have. 'Dates' sounds likely a really big thing you have to dress like an angel for. Perhaps you watch too much of it in movies, and you feel convinced that if it's not an over flowing black shinny dress, then you've not made a statement.
A major part of dressing up for your first date is finding out your venue to keep you in check. You'd be wrong to have a loud outfit or look in a casual environment. When you have an idea of where you are headed, you can decide if what you have in your wardrobe is good enough or you have to go an extra mile
3. Wear appropriate makeup:
While this is not a must to do, you should make sure you have a moderately glossy lips as it lightens up your outfit. If you want to have your makeup on, absolutely good. However, it should be as moderate as possible. Keep it cool, keep it calm. Remember you're not out for a fashion show.
4. Don't dress trendy:
Be stylish and moderate, but not with trendy wears
5. Find out your venue and dress accordingly:
Doing this helps you find a dress that matches the energy of the environment. You don't
want to dress too casual to an exquisite environment and you don't want to appear loud in a
very casual environment.
WHAT TO WEAR ON A FIRST DATE:
For day time dates that usually are casual dates, you don't need too much of brain storming on what to look like.
You want to look good, sharp, as beautiful as possible and definitely not over dressed.
Here are some suggestions of outfits you can work with for a first day time date;
- Denim on denim
- Plain coloured short gown
A flowery long or short gown
A shirt/top and a Jean trouser
Jumpsuit
A little front line slitted denim skirt and a befitting top
Comfy pant with suitable top.
Note that you can pair these wears with any befitting footwear of your choice.
For evening dates or dinner dates, you might need to go a little extra and play around colors.
Here are some suggestions to guide your appearance;
Flowery long gown
2. Straight styled gowns
3. Fashionable top X pant trouser
4. Mermaid Gown
How do I make this colorful you say?
Some colors I'd suggest you work with (this however depends on your skin tone) are; red, black, white, cream, wine, pink, blue, orange, purple, onion, green, nude or brown.
Another important thing that shouldn't be left out is your accessories.
Your ear rings will sure do more being colorful. However, if you're not too good with combining colors, it's okay working with silver accessory. Gold isn't bad too, depending on your preference, your footwear and your handbag.
I'm sure this has reduced your ache in figuring what to wear out with Andy.
Cheers baby. I'd see you again.
Have a great weekend!
